Old Mission San Juan Capistrano
Built in 1776-1778, this is the oldest building in California. It is the only remaining Mission church where Father Junipero Serra conducted services. In the early 1920's it was restored by Father St. John O'Sullivan, pastor of the Mission from 1910-1933.
The Mission's beautiful baroque altar is from Barcelona, Spain, and is made of cherrywood with a gold leaf overlay. It is estimated to be over 350 years old.
